The Bridge Centre Motorcycle Project is a charitable organisation, operating as part of the Bridge Community Centre in Haddington. The Project was established on a part-time basis in 1990 and has been full-time since 1999. It is staffed by a dedicated team of full-time Project youth workers, Sessional workers and Volunteers.

The Project uses off-road training motorcycles as a means of engaging with young people, aged 8 to 25 years, with a view to facilitating individual support and group work activities, which are ultimately aimed at promoting inclusion and social welfare.

Here are some quotes from our partner agencies:

"Outstanding commitment from its workers and true meaningful multi-agency working, fully integrated into the pupil suport system - the Bridge Centre Motorcycle Project has benefited our youngsters greatly. Young people who would have been disaffected and disengaged have made real changes, and are interacting more positively within the school community." (Yvonne Binks and Linda Girot, Ross High School, Tranent)

"Prevention is the primary aim of Youth Justice work - preventing young people getting involved in the Justice system, and preventing those who are already involved from progressing further. The work of the Bridge Centre Motorcycle Project on a 1-2-1 basis, and in groups, is an essential part of Youth Justice work in East Lothian." (Mike Rodger, East Lothian Anti-Social Behaviour Manager)
